The Principles Behind Successful Network Marketing

The 80/20 rule is a universal rule that applies to all modern businesses. This rule states that only 20 percent of the world’s population will achieve something while the other 80 percent do nothing and simply fade away.
This same concept also applies to success in the network marketing business. Most people will not get anywhere with it. It is only the small 20 percent of people who have the determination and willpower to achieve something.
Unfortunately, it is only a small number of the already small 20 percent who actually achieve success in network marketing. Most throw in the towel after failing to see success or move on to other things in life. Their failure has nothing to do with network marketing, and everything to do with themselves.
Taking the First step Towards Successful Network Marketing
The very first step towards being successful in the network marketing business is to start dreaming. This cannot be just any dream but a BIG dream. You should never let other people negatively influence what you think you can or cannot do. As Donald Trump once put it, “If you are going to think, you might as well think big.”
Since you are already thinking, why not think big and then achieve big while you are at it. A dream is what keeps you going through the bad times, and without a convincing dream you will surely succumb to the challenges of network marketing and give up without seeing any success.
Having a dream is not enough, however, and you must also have a plan for achieving success. It is not enough for you to simply have the “WHY” of things, but also the “HOW.” Without a plan for realizing your dream, then your dream will simply remain a dream and never become reality.
A good example would be the many methods of prospecting that are no longer considered effective in this day and age. Engaging in cold calling and bugging your friends and relatives to enroll in your network marketing opportunity is no longer effective or acceptable.
You must keep up with the times and learn to interact with people and to take advantage of the Internet to start generating business leads.
Having a properly structured plan of action is important because you need something concrete to follow to achieve you dream. An effective action plan should lay out what you have to do each day, week, month, and year in order to make your dreams come true.
Craft a time table and write down what it is you need to do each day; read a motivational book, spend time prospecting, talking to some of your customers about a product, and teaching and guiding your downline.
Without a plan to follow from one day to the next, you will find that the days pass you by without you having achieved much. In the end, you are the one who has to make things work for yourself.
You must not rely solely on your upline to find success for you, because you are just building up their businesses if you do and not your own.
